John “Free” Freeman has been a full-time college missionary since 1995. He is passionate about reaching the next generation in order to impact the world for Christ, and he has focused his ministry career on equipping and empowering young people. He comes to Rockpointe via Ann Arbor and then Pittsburgh, but considers the move a homecoming since he grew up nearby. He has nursed a life-long dream to minister to young adults in the metro Detroit area. Pastor Free is responsible for Rockpointe’s youth and young adult ministry strategies, including AXIOM student ministry, Light Company young adult ministry, college outreach, small groups, and serving initiatives. Married to his wife Beth since 1996, they have five children and one grandchild. Free loves to play board games and hang out with friends, especially over a good meal.
