The word “steadfast” in Hebrew involves mercy, compassion, unfailing love and faithfulness.
It is not merely an emotion or feeling – it involves actions on behalf of someone who is in need.
It describes a sense of love and loyalty that inspire merciful and compassionate behavior toward another. It motivates a person who is the superior in a relationship to provide service or meet the critical needs of one in his care. It surpasses ordinary kindness or friendship in order to show amazing, incomparable grace and love to the one in need.
It is in this way that God loves us…
