What is your source of truth? In a modern society that claims it’s ok to “live your truth,” how do we validate truth claims? It’s simply not possible for them all to be true! Whether society likes it or not, truth claims are by their very nature exclusionary. That includes Biblical Christianity, which hinges on this one:
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 (ESV)
That is a declarative statement. That is an offensive statement. Jesus as the sole way to salvation is a problem today because society says there are many different ways and only an incredibly bad, completely immoral person gets shut out.
But if our worldview is shaped by scriptures like this, then we have to stand in those moments and say “No, it is TRUTH, and it changes how I see things and how I view things.”
